Why I decided to attend UW-River Falls :
With my pre-college experience with the Upward Bound program, I felt connected to the campus. I came from Burma three years before I attended UW-RF and by attending UW-RF it gives me the opportunity to be exposed to the American culture. And now I am happy to be part of this great campus.

Favorite food served on campus: I like almost everything that I eat and I don’t think I have any particular food that I consider as my favorite.

Favorite feature of UW-River Falls: A small campus and small classroom size

Campus Involvement: Academic Success Center, Multicultural Programs, Asian American Student Association, and Bible study group.

Favorite professor and why: Dr. Yang, Dr. Riggs, and Dr. Simon from the history department because after they give the lecture they always leave me with something to think about. They don’t judge me, but understand and correct me if I happen to express my opinion in the wrong manner.

Favorite spot on campus: It is the library and definitely the second floor. It is warm during cold winter days and cool during the hot summer; the quiet atmosphere is also nice for reading and taking a nap.

Favorite event on campus: Unity in the Community. There is a lot of free stuff given out and the campus presents the beauty of different cultures and their uniqueness.

Best reason to live on campus: . Living on campus gives you the opportunity to make new friends with people from different backgrounds, or similar backgrounds, and feel more connected to the campus. You will also make your own decisions and it prepares you to be a responsible person.

Best thing about being a student at UW-River Falls: It helps develop you to be a responsible person.

Advice to incoming students: Always take a few minutes to stop by professors’ offices because different professors have different expectations about their classes.
