Katie Heimer

Hathorn
My name is Katie Heimer and I am a junior here at UWRF. I am double majoring in International Studies and History with a minor in German. After graduation I aspire to attend grad school and obtain a PhD in history or anthropology and at some point I would also like to join the Peace Corps for a short while. My long term goal at present is to get involved with the UN coordinating aid and schooling for troubled nations.

In my spare time (wait, what spare time?) I love to read just about everything. I am a bit of an artist, so you may also see me around campus sketching or with a camera welded to my face. I enjoy skylines, laugh lines, footprints and epiphanies. Foreign films float my boat as well as welding, bare feet and comedic timing. I’m a big fan of the laid back hangout and am a pretty relaxed person on the whole.

I am very excited to be participating in Outreach Advising this year in Hathorn Hall as well as around campus. Everybody has questions out there and it’s important for everyone to know that it’s OK to ask them; I am happy to be another channel of information for you. If you’re that first year student, just like I was, shuffling around trying to figure out what’s what while simultaneously doing your best not to constantly sport that “deer in the headlights” look, let me tell you, I know what that was like and I want you to get your questions answered. Even if you are a seasoned college student there are still things that stump you. I know I still have questions. So, regardless of who you are, what point you are at in college, feel free to ask me ANY questions this year and I promise I will do the very best to answer them; at the very least I will refer you to someone who can.

I am looking forward to meeting a whole slew of great people this year and I hope you are one of them. Stop by the Hathorn lobby and tell me a little about yourself and hopefully we can get your questions answered!
