Linnea Warner

Hiya! My name is Linnea Warner. I participated in the Wisconsin in Scotland program in Spring 2013. I enjoyed every second in Scotland so much! The Wisconsin in Scotland experience is a great way to experience a different culture and way of life without learning a completely new language! Going to Scotland helped me gain a better understanding of how the world works, more insight into different walks of life, and helped me become even more independent than I already was (I spent my entire spring break traveling alone).

The most amazing part of the WIS program (other than the spectacular scenery) is the people you will meet while you are over there! The people you live with in the palace will become your family, yes including the staff and professors too! While traveling alone or in small groups can be fun, the house trips are a great way to bond with your house family, plus some of them are free or really cheap! Having a host family is a great way to connect with the locals and learn more about how different people live. Studying abroad is one thing that all college students should do before graduating and the Wisconsin in Scotland program is a great way to accomplish this at an affordable rate!
