May 6, 2011--Whether it’s a way to catch up, keep up or get ahead, the University of Wisconsin-River Falls offers a variety of summer session courses. Registration is open now and continues to the day the chosen class begins. Summer session is open to both current students and individuals from other institutions and the community who apply to UWRF for the summer.
To simplify the search for summer information, the university has created a website at http://www.uwrf.edu/summer to connect all the resources needed for summer session. The site provides information on how to apply, summer tuition and financial aid resources, life on campus options and course offerings.
Current UWRF students can enroll directly through the eSIS system, but summer session is also open to students who want to transfer to UWRF, individuals who are enrolled at other institutions or are non-degree seeking and students taking graduate-level courses. These students can visit the site to complete the appropriate online application.
Students with a completed 2010-11 FAFSA completed can also complete the online Summer Aid Application for federal financial aid after registering for summer classes.
Summer on-campus housing is available for students taking classes, participating in an UWRF internship, conducting academic research or enrolled in UWRF graduate courses during summer session. On-campus dining options are also available.
UWRF summer session courses include classes on campus, online or off-site, as well as noncredit, undergraduate and graduate credit options.
One example is the exciting opportunity to study at the UW-System Pigeon Lake Field Station located in the southwest part of the Chequamegon National Forest. This unique experience offers courses in art, field biology and teacher education in a natural northwoods environment. Pigeon Lake information can be found at http://www.uwrf.edu/ContinuingEducation/PigeonLake.cfm.
Further questions about courses should be directed towards the Registrar’s Office at 715-425-3342 and questions about payments may be directed to the Financial Aid office at 715-425-3141.
