Telefund

What is the Telefund Program?

The UW-River Falls Foundation Telefund program is a fundraising component of the Foundation's Annual Giving program. The program employs approximately 20-24 UW-River Falls full time students as Telefund Specialists each semester and calls five evenings a week. The Telefund program is a fundraising program in which the Telefund Specialists are trained to contact UWRF alumni and friends as well as parents of current students for two purposes: First, to build and strengthen the relationship between the alumni and friends and the University. Second, to seek and secure financial support on behalf of UW-River Falls. Private support raised through the Telefund is used to support the university’s highest priorities. The Telefund is automated, allowing us the ability to reach out to a large number of alumni and friends of UW - River Falls living in the United States. It is expected of staff to meet fundraising goals, and excel at being courteous, professional representatives of the University while connecting with current and prospective donors.

How much will I be paid?

The starting salary of Telefund Specialists is $8.00/ hour. Salary increases are based on job performance and adjusted each semester. The Telefund Specialists position does not fulfill work/study hours; it is student assistant position.

What hours will I work? The Foundation Telefund operates from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday through Thursday. We are in operation Fall semester (mid-September through mid-December), and Spring semester (early February through early May - though not during spring break). All employees are expected to work three evenings (9 hours) a week. A work schedule is created every two weeks to allow for flexible scheduling around class projects, special assignments, intramurals, etc. This also minimizes unexpected absences. Expectations regarding Sunday schedule: It is an expectation of all staff to schedule themselves for 6 of the 10 Sunday evening shifts that the Telefund is open during the semester. If you cannot work Sunday evening shifts, there is no need to apply.

Who should apply?

You should apply if you are a full-time student who will professionally represent the University and have a genuine interest in connecting with alumni and friends over the phone.
