The Outstanding Young Alumni Award recognizes the accomplishments of individuals who have excelled in professional and civic accomplishments and have graduated from UWRF within the last 15 years. The first recipient of this award is Max Neuhaus.

Max earned both his bachelor of science and master of science degrees from UW-River Falls before receiving his Juris Doctorate from Hamline University. He is an attorney and partner at Rodli, Beskar, Krueger and Pletcher, S.C. in River Falls specializing in estate planning, business and real estate transactions.

Max is an active member of the River Falls community. He participates in numerous community boards where he has served, or is currently serving as a director or chair/president.  He is an advocate for the River Falls community while serving on the Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Board of Directors.  Max is a founding director of the River Falls Education Foundation, has been actively involved in the River Falls Public Library Foundation, and was previously director and president of the Saint Croix Valley Restorative Justice Program.


The UW-River Falls Alumni Association established this award in 2014 to recognize UWRF graduates. The award will be presented at the annual scholarship benefit in the spring.

The UWRF Alumni Advisory Board selects the award recipients based on the recommendations of the Award sand Recognition Committee of the UWRF Alumni Advisory Board. Nominations for the award may be submitted by members of the UWRF community, alumni, and UWRF Foundation/Alumni Board members. A written recommendation should be attached to the nomination form and is limited to two pages.

The written recommendation should address the following award criteria:
      - Excelled in their professions and provided service to their
        communities
      - Continuing interest and loyalty to the University
