The Undergraduate Research, Scholarly and Creative Activity Office announces the availability of travel funds through the new URSCA Mentor Travel Grant for a research mentor to travel with his/her undergraduate researchers. For a mentor to qualify for this travel award, the student(s) must be presenting authors, program participants, or displaying their original URSCA project at a discipline-specific professional conference or event.
Applications for these competitive grants are welcome from all faculty and academic staff URSCA mentors.
URSCA mentors are eligible for up to $1,300.00 in travel expenses.
Priority will be given to those mentor applications that include the URSCA student(s)' confirmation of acceptance at the conference or event.
Priority will be given to those mentors who have multiple URSCA students who are presenting authors, program participants, or who are displaying their original URSCA projects.
Faculty and academic staff URSCA mentors are eligible for funding to attend one conference per year.
For a mentor to qualify for this travel award, the URSCA student(s) must be presenting authors, program participants, or displaying their original URSCA project at the professional conference or event.
The mentors' URSCA students must be current UWRF students at the time of travel.
Travel must occur between July 1, 2016 and June 30, 2017.
Funds may be used for travel expenses such as conference registration, lodging, transportation, etc. Per state guidelines for differential tuition funds, the URSCA Mentor Travel Grant cannot be used to purchase food or beverages.
All travel arrangements and reimbursements must adhere to UW-System travel policies
For those URSCA mentors who are interested in accompanying their students to NCUR or UW-System Symposium, please contact the URSCA Office directly. We encourage URSCA mentor participation and we will take those requests on a case by case basis.
All proposals will be evaluated by URSCA Council.
The Office of Undergraduate Research, Scholarly and Creative Activity will notify award recipients, typically within 6 weeks of the grant deadline.
