Falcon Scholars: URSCA Track

As a Falcon Scholar, you have up to $2,000 available to use toward a research or study abroad experience once you have met the following criteria:

a. At least a 2.75 UWRF GPA, and

b. Completion of the required intent form and research proposal (https://www.uwrf.edu/FalconScholars/Index.cfm), and either

c. Earned at least 45 credits overall with at least 15 taken after becoming a full-time UWRF student or have earned at least 30 credits overall and completed two semesters of coursework through UWRF.

If you elect the research track, your funds can be used to pay for research expenses (supplies, disposable equipment, travel to conduct your research), and for a financial stipend to help support you while you pursue your project.

To use your funds for undergraduate research, you will learn this process:

  1. How to develop an idea and find a research mentor
  2. How to create a research plan
  3. How to develop a timeline and build a research budget

To conduct a research project, you will need to submit a research proposal. To learn more about how to write a research plan/proposal, check out this handout!

Wondering how to begin? When to begin?

Come see us—It's never too early! Make an appointment, and/or attend one or all of the upcoming URSCA Mini-Forums, a "how-to" series designed to help you with every phase of this process, and/or one of the other URSCA Workshops.
