These surveys gather residents’ input on issues affecting the future of land use in their community. The survey serves as a key component of the public participation portion of the comprehensive plan for the community.
These surveys seek information on a variety of subjects related to rural development. Some examples include:
A survey to gather information about production, revenues, costs, and visitors at wineries and cideries in the state of Wisconsin.
A study of actual and potential demand for green power in western Wisconsin. An assessment of the nature and prevalence of challenges facing lower-income households in western Wisconsin.
A survey to understand how, why, and where Wisconsin farmers are investing off the farm…(and) what sort of educational programs would help producers to set goals and invest more effectively.
UWRF surveys include collecting information from faculty, staff, and students about issues relating to the University. Examples of surveys done for UWRF include:
A study to evaluate veterans’ experiences at the University of Wisconsin- River Falls
A study about the experiences of Wisconsin farmers who had completed a succession plan to transfer the ownership of the farm. The survey was sponsored by the University of Wisconsin – Extension in order to guide development of educational programs to meet the evolving needs of Wisconsin farmers.
