Data collected from SRC surveys have been used to:

Help determine a school district's long and short term needs.

Inform policy makers and the public of citizens' opinions on issues such as land use, tourism, parking, library usage and other quality of life issues.

Provide needs assessments and determine satisfaction with services.

Provide economic development investigations.

Recent survey projects have included:

• agricultural and natural resource sector labor surveys
• study to gather information about the experiences of Wisconsin farmers who have completed a succession plan to transfer the ownership of their farm
• a survey of residents determining their understanding of stormwater issues, and their current behaviors that can affect stormwater quality and quantity
• study of actual and potential demand for green power in western Wisconsin
• survey to gather information about the production, revenues, costs, and visitors at wineries and cideries in the state

All projects must follow appropriate standards for the protection of human subjects, including assurances of confidentiality as established by the University of Wisconsin – River Falls Institutional Review Board for the Protection of Human Subjects (IRB).
