"You can't lead anyone else further than you have gone yourself." —Gene Mauch
The Office of Student Life offers a wide variety of opportunities for all students to build leadership skills. The development of these skills can be achieved through involvement in student organizations, attending leadership development workshops, and participating in campus wide programming. Making the most of opportunities to gain leadership skills is an important part of the overall educational experience at UW-River Falls.
Creating a profile in OrgSync
is one of the best ways to learn about the many opportunities to get involved on campus. If you have not done so already, sign up for a free account on OrgSync and start browsing the many ways to get involved on campus. All students are encouraged to participate in any activity or event listed in OrgSync.
In addition, the Office of Student Life through Falcon Programs has developed a cohort based leadership seminar for emerging first year student leaders called LEAD. This seminar is based on the social change model of leadership development and includes many great opportunities to not only learn about getting involved on campus, but learn more about the concept of leadership and how it is practiced within a variety of contexts.
