Student Assistant

Student Health Services is seeking to hire UWRF students to serve as Program and Promotion Assistants during the 2012-2013 academic year. One will serve as the Health Fair Coordinator. Additional duties include program development and implementation, publicity and marketing.

This position will work closely with the Assistant Director of Campus Recreation in the oversight of Intramural Sports, Sport Clubs, and Outdoor Recreation. The Intramural Manager is responsible for supporting and promoting all Intramural activities, programs and events sponsored by Campus Recreation.  Responsibilities include assisting with the development, administration, supervision and evaluation of the Intramural program, including equipment duties and scheduling and training workers. The Intramural Manager will also serve as an Intramural Supervisor and assist with the administration of Intramural events. The position requires evening and weekend hours.

This position will work closely with the Intramural Supervisors, Intramural Manager, Campus Recreation Intern and Assistant Director of Campus Recreation. Responsibilities will include enforcing departmental policies and game rules for any number of intramural sports including basketball, flag football, soccer, volleyball, softball, ultimate frisbee, broomball, and dodgeball. Additional duties include maintaining a safe and fun atmosphere during intramural competition, facilitating fair play among participants, and attending sport-specific training sessions.

This position will work closely with the Intramural Supervisors, Intramural Manager, Campus Recreation Intern and Assistant Director of Campus Recreation. The Sport Club Manager is responsible for supporting and promoting all Sport Club programmatic activities and functions.  Responsibilities include assisting with the development, administration, supervision and evaluation of the Sport Club program, including equipment duties and reviewing club documentation. The Sport Club Manager will also serve assist with the administration of all home Sport Club contests, practices and events. The position requires evening and weekend hours.

Kinni Outdoor Adventures Coordinator
The Student Manager will be assisting the UWRF recreation director with the day-to-day operations of Kinni Outdoor Adventures (KOA), professionally managing the KOA student staff and promoting outdoor recreation opportunities to the UWRF and River Falls community. KOA operates three major entities: The Knowles Indoor Climbing wall, The KOA Rental Center, and a series of outdoor day trips and courses. Other events include the biannual climbing competition, freshman outreach program, and group climbing rentals.

Kinni Outdoor Adventures Staff
Student Leaders will assist the Kinni Outdoor Adventures Manager with various duties within the program. A team of well-rounded outdoor leaders will be necessary for KOA to operate on a student basis. KOA operates three major entities: The Knowles Indoor Climbing wall, KOA Rental Center, and a series of outdoor day trips and courses. Desk Assistant (DA) (Multiple Positions)
Contributes to and helps develop community among hall residents. Responsible for the front desk operation of a particular hall/area, specifically administrative duties, check-in and out procedures, building security, mail sorting, and assisting residents, staff, and visitors at the Residence Hall front desk.

Area Desk Manager (ADM) (Multiple Positions)
Responsible for training, scheduling, supervising and evaluating Residence Hall Front Desk Staff; completes administrative duties to be assigned including payroll operations.

Resident Assistant (RA) (Multiple Positions)
Responsible for community development activity planning, safety and security for a residence hall community, building and fostering relationships and connections between residents. Requires ability to use good judgment in mediating conflicts and handling difficult situations.

Responsible for overall operation of one residence hall including training, supervision and evaluation of 4-10 Resident Assistants, advising Hall Council and necessary administrative duties.

Summer Resident Assistant (RA) (Multiple Positions)

Summer Conference Assistant (CA)
Serves as the immediate contact person between the guests of visiting groups, Residence Life, and the liaison to the University in general.

Summer Conference Manager (CM)
Serves as the immediate contact to all Camp Directors of Camps and Conferences in regard to ensuring proper housing accommodations and need are met upon their arrival to campus.

Custodial Staff
Provides basic custodial duties of common areas in the University Center. Requires evening and weekend hours. 

Desk Assistant
Responsibilities include cash handling, assisting students, professional staff, and the public, answering phones, as well as various tasks at both desks with a strong emphasis on customer service. Requires evening and weekend hours in addition to daytime desk coverage at the Involvement Center Desk and the Information Desk in the University Center.

Production Services - Event Staff
The Production Services - Event Staff is primarily responsible for all of the production infrastructure and room setups for the University Center and secondary support is provided campus-wide. The staff will be responsible for set-up and take-down of all staging, trussing, video screens, Genie Lifts, scaffolding, crowd barricades, tables, chairs and will provide additional departmental support as needed including audio, video and lighting systems. Production Services - Event Staff represent Student Affairs while on duty. This appointment requires evening and weekend hours and a commitment of 6 - 12 hours per week. This is a very labor-intensive position.

Campus Reservations Assistant
Serves as the primary campus reservations staff person on duty and is responsible for providing customer service to individuals who telephone, e-mail, web-request or visit the Campus Reservations Office to request room reservations in person. Requires reservations desk coverage during the standard business day and some evening hours.
