Teen Pregnancy All Counties

  • Teen pregnancy rates were drawn from state data sets and 2020 was the most recent year available.
  • No teen pregnancies were recorded in Pierce County during 2020.
  • 11-13 young women aged 15 – 19 per 1,000 population were estimated to become pregnant during 2018 in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
  • Except for Burnett County, all the other St. Croix River Valley counties with available data had lower rates of teen pregnancy than their respective states.

  • Rates of teenage pregnancies dropped dramatically in the state of Wisconsin and Polk County from 2006 to 2020 and more slowly in Pierce and St. Croix Counties; all three counties usually have lower rates of teenage pregnancies than the state average.
  • Data for Burnett County is somewhat spotty in recent years in that figures were not available in 2015 and 2017, but appears to have leveled off after a sharp decline from 2006 through 2014.
  • No teen pregnancies were recorded in Pierce County during 2020.

  • Teenage pregnancies in in Minnesota in 2018 were less than half the rate in 2006.
  • Teenage pregnancies have also declined rapidly in Chisago and Washington Counties, though with more year-to-year volatility.
  • Both Chisago and Washington Counties have had lower rates of teenage pregnancy than the Minnesota state average.
