Rising to Distinction

Campaign Priorities

Rising to Distinction is a comprehensive fundraising effort aimed at enabling UWRF to climb to new heights of excellence in student financial aid, faculty support, student learning opportunities, and facilities. Our campaign goal is to raise $20 million by June 30, 2016. This total is divided among six key areas of impact.

 Goals Pie Chart

Student Support

Our first priority is our students, which is why we continue to grow and develop annual and endowed scholarships. At the beginning of the campaign two new scholarships were created, the Chancellor's Scholarship and Falcon Scholars program. The Chancellor's Scholarship provides select incoming students half or full-tuition for four years, while Falcon Scholars, fueled by the Albrecht challenge gift-matching program, gives qualified freshmen a $1,000 per year scholarship for four years. Both programs offer students a $2,000 stipend for study abroad or undergraduate research.

Faculty Support

In the modern era, support for faculty has never been more important. As a teaching university, UWRF seeks to recruit and retain the very best teachers. Leaders in undergraduate research, UWRF faculty provide mentorship and guidance to students making unique discoveries about the world around them.

Endowed faculty positions are among the most influential and meaningful gifts that can be made to an academic institution, and factor highly in the recruitment and retention of top faculty.

Falcon Center

The Falcon Center, replacing the 1959 Karges Athletic Center, is an innovative facility that will meet the educational, recreational, and athletic needs of our community. This new building will contribute to the wellness and competitiveness of the region, while serving to attract and retain students, staff, and faculty.
