Undergraduate Student Success Studydocument

In a continuing effort to improve the university, the University of Wisconsin-River Falls (UWRF) is currently striving to better its retention and graduation rates. The purpose of this current study was to examine to what extent specific student statistics and characteristics predict their likelihood of completing a degree. The dependent variable of this study was whether the student was successful at attaining a degree within six years of their first enrolled semester at UWRF. Data was collected for two different populations: First-time new freshmen (n = 1018) and new transfers (n = 263). The overall design and results of this study are consistent with recent and past national research on retention and graduation rates.
