Event details: This two hour paddle takes you through small sandy beaches, marshlands, forests, and prime fishing locations. Many opportunities exist for viewing whitetail deer, trout, and river otters. Great for any skill level.

Trip fee includes transportation, equipment, and student guides.

Participants provide: ″water bottle ″sunscreen ″camera ″secure footwear, synthetic/quick dry clothing (not cotton)

Gear Sale

·      Public/Student Vendor Fee: 5% of total sales at event

Event details: Falcon Outdoor Adventures is cleaning out our storage and selling our gear that needs to be replaced! All gear is still in good, usable condition. Items to be sold include tents, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, bicycles, climbing shoes, kayaks, snowshoes, broomball sticks, and other miscellaneous sports equipment.

Sunset Paddle

Event details: Canoe a scenic portion of the St. Croix River and take in a beautiful sunset.

Trip fee includes: transportation, equipment, snack, and student guides.

Rock Climbing

Location of trip: Barn Bluff, Red Wing, MN

Event details: Climb several routes ranging from 5.5-5.10 along the Mississippi River Valley in the nearby city of Red Wing, MN.

WKND Backpacking

Event details: "There is no better way to know this land than to walk it. Walking brings into perspective all the wonderful details that make the whole picture." Backpack along one of the beautiful areas of Wisconsin yet close to the River Falls area. Outdoor Adventures can outfit you with all your camping equipment and backpacks if needed. Delicious backcountry meals are included while on this excursion.

Event details: Falcon Outdoor Adventures will be offering three nights at the climbing wall this fall semester that are for ladies only. Come out and join our female staff for a night of climbing with other females. Bring along someone new to the sport and enjoy some bonding with the ladies. Why, because women rock!

Event details: Falcon Outdoor Adventures will be teaching you how to cook some delicious backcountry meals with the use of charcoal and dutch ovens. Join us for this lesson where you will help prepare, cook, and of course eat a tasty main dish and dessert! Dishes will be decided upon in advance, if concerned about dietary restrictions please ask FOA staff prior to the day of the event.

Event details: Start your morning off right ripping through some of the best trails in the state. It is recommended that participants have some prior experience riding on single track natural surface trails. Hit the trails with use where there is something for everyone ranging from single track and mixed terrain for the beginner to intermediate level rider. Saturday lunch and dinner provided as well as a Sunday breakfast. Bikes and camping equipment provided if needed. Transportation, equipment, three meals, and student guides. Pre-registration required. In case of severe weather, participants will be contacted in advance and trip will be re-scheduled or refunded.

 

WKND Rock Climb

Event details: Join Outdoor Adventures on its annual weekend rock climbing trip. This year, venture to the quarry in Sandstone for great top rope climbing, camping, and river viewing.

Event details: Falcon Outdoor Adventures will be getting you into the autumn and Halloween spirit with pumpkin carving and s'more. Nothing says fall like social time around the fire pit and letting your inner kid come out through the creativity of a jack-o-lantern and roasting of marshmallows! S'more stuff and carving tools provided. Limit of 35 pumpkins provided. Feel free to BYOPumpkin too!

 

WMI Training

Wilderness First Aid Course (NOLS Wilderness Medicine Institute):

Event details: The Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course will help you prepare for the unexpected. This fast paced, hands-on training is designed to meet the needs of trip leaders, camp staff, outdoor enthusiasts and individuals working in remote locations. It will introduce you to caring for people who become ill or injured far from definitive medical care. Classroom lectures and demonstrations are combined with realistic scenarios where mock patients will challenge you to integrate your learning. At the end of the course, you'll have the knowledge, skills and ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.

 

Taught by seasoned instructors in a two or two and a half day format, most WFA courses are held on a weekend. Learning takes place both in the classroom and in outdoor settings regardless of weather conditions. Come prepared for wet, muddy, cold or hot environments. NOLS Wilderness Medicine Institute certification cost, cabin lodging, and four meals Pre-registration required.

Event details: Seeking the perfect challenge to take your mind off the stress of finals? Attend the UWRF bouldering competition! All skill levels are welcomed and will be put to the test on our continually improving traverse wall.
