Since 1982, the University of Wisconsin System has offered courses and workshops in a wide range of disciplines at Pigeon Lake Field Station, an idyllic woodland lakeside setting.  The Discovery Center is ideal for field studies in the natural sciences and the beauty of the area facilitates exploration in art, literature, humanities, social sciences, recreation and physical education.

Each summer, the Discovery Center offers undergraduate and graduate credit classes that are open to residents of Wisconsin and others.  Instructors come from a variety of disciplines and UW System Institutions.

You can take courses for professional development, personal enrichment or apply the credits earned toward your degree.   All credits earned at the Discovery Center transfer to any UW System University of college and possibly other institutions.

To attend Discovery Center courses, you will pay room/board and class instructional/materials costs in addition to tuition established by UW System.  Tuition rates for UW System summer classes are set in the late spring of each year.  For current tuition rates, visit the website of the institution offering the course.

Full time students who receive financial assistance may apply their aid to Discovery Center courses.  Check with the financial aid office at your home institution for more information.

Register early for your desired courses since space in most courses is limited.  Courses may be canceled if not enough students register.
