Psychology is one of the most popular majors on the UW-River Falls campus. This popularity can be traced to several factors:
• The training psychology majors receive in research, theory, and application is valued by employers across a wide range of occupations. As a result, our majors find work in several different sectors of the economy, but especially in Health Care and Education.
• The Psychology department has a reputation for excellence in teaching. Many of our faculty are award winning teachers and advisors.
• We engage in high-impact educational practices. Each year, between 15 and 20 students present their collaborative research (supervised by a faculty member) at regional and national conferences.
• Our program provides an outstanding foundation for graduate work and/or employment. A significant number of our majors pursue graduate work in psychology (primarily counseling related fields) though many others go directly into the workforce (primarily health care and education related fields).
Requirements and course descriptions for the psychology major and minor are available in the Undergraduate Catalog.
