Taking Care of Business (TCOB) is a living and learning community for first year students who are pursuing majors in accounting, business administration, computer science and information science, or economics. The TCOB community creates purposeful links among the academic, residential, and social elements of the undergraduate experience. During the year, students will share some General Education courses and the College of Business Orientation course that applies to the major.
The following General Education courses are required of participants in the Taking Care of Business Learning Community:
Fall Semester (6.5 credits)
CBE 100 (Orientation to the College of Business and Economics) - meets College of Business and Economics degree requirement
ECON 100 (Modern Economics) - meets the "SB" requirement of Goal Two
COMS 116 (Business and Professional Communication) - meets the "CS" requirement of Goal One
Spring Semester (9 credits)
ENGL 100 (Academic Reading/Writing) - meets the "CW" requirement of Goal One
CSIS 215 (Information Systems for Business Management) - meets college of Business and Economics degree requirement
ECON 202 (Principles of Macroeconomics) - meets College of Business and Economics degree requirement
