Our Bachelor of Applied Science in computer science provides a way for individuals who have associate’s degrees in this area to continue their education and obtain a bachelor’s degree.
Research has shown that individuals with a bachelor's degree have increased earning potential and better career opportunities. This degree is the newest of several degree completion programs offered by UWRF to meet the higher education needs of working adults throughout western Wisconsin and the Twin Cities. Market analysis predicts strong job growth in this occupational area.
The curriculum includes 29-30 credits from university general education courses and 30-31 credits from core courses in computer science. Applicants who bring in fewer than 60 credits from a previous degree plan will need to take additional courses.
Credit will be awarded for college-level course work completed at accredited institutions. While general education credits are generally accepted from two-year colleges, this new program makes it possible for students to receive university credit for technical and work specific courses as well. For more information on how your college credits will transfer to UW-River Falls, visit the Transfer Credit Policy web page or contact the Admissions Office staff.
