Manager of Transfer Credit/U.Select Lead - Registrar’s Office

The Position: Manager of Transfer Credit/U.Select lead (UW System title: Associate Admin. Program Specialist)

Specific Responsibilities:

Transfer Coordinator:

  • Evaluate transfer credits for new, continuing and re-entry students.
  • Oversee the transfer of credit process within the Registrar’s Office and supervise staff on entering catalog information for the Transfer Articulation process and data entering of transfer credits.
  • Work with departments with agreements for transfer institutions and their programs. Work with Provost, academic department chairs, and academic deans to develop new transfer agreements and maintain agreements on website for students and faculty to view.
  • Work with Admissions, Colleges, and academic departments on TES - Transfer Evaluation System from CollegeSource to ensure it is up-to-date.
  • Lead U.Select implementation and ongoing maintenance and be our liaison to UW System.
  • Maintain the UW Transfer Information System (TIS).
  • Maintain the UW System major’s database used for the electronic application, MajorMania, introduction matrix, etc.


Adviser:

  • Determine application of transfer work towards specific degree requirements. Facilitate transfer students’ application of credits and work with Admissions to provide DARS for new transfer students.
  • Advise transfer students of the appeal procedures of transfer work towards degree requirements.
  • Discuss with new freshman or academic advisers the application of Advanced Placement credits within their degree path.
  • Meet with currently enrolled students to discuss transfer credits and how they will transfer in and apply to their degree requirements.


Other:

  • Duties as assigned by the Registrar.
  • Work to enhance knowledge of PeopleSoft to contribute to the success of Student Records with the upgrades to our Student Information System.
  • Coordinate the training and set up of the twice yearly commencement ceremonies for ushers, and additional staff as necessary.


Qualifications (Required):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Two years transfer credit experience within higher education.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to diverse student populations and ability to contribute to the University’s commitment to enhancing student awareness and appreciation of diverse ethnic and cultural heritages.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Preferred):

  • Master’s Degree
  • Experience working with U.Select, UW-System Transfer Information System and Transfer Evaluation Software.
  • Ability to lead and take initiative on projects within the Registrar's Office and Campus Community.
  • Familiarity with UW-River Falls programs.
