Specific Responsibilities:

The Production Services Coordinator is responsible for the operation and maintenance of sound, lighting, video, staging and computer-based multimedia systems to support all non-academic events, including special events held on campus. This position is the resident authority on the use and operation of A/V equipment used by Production Services, University Center and various academic buildings venues as they relate to non-academic programming. This position works closely with Campus Reservations and Conference and Event Services staff, Falcon Programs, University Center staff, Student Affairs staff, contracted artists and other facilities users to determine and coordinate the best technical support possible for successful facility utilization. This position will also work directly with the faculty and staff who utilize Abbott Concert Hall to ensure a standard for technical operations on campus. The presentation responsibilities of this position involve directing and working at heights and in darkened facilities,moving weight loads sometimes exceeding 75 pounds, crawling under staging, working on ladders and personnel lifts and working outside of standard university office hours to include weekends and evenings.

Qualifications (Required):

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience in area of expertise: Event management and audio systems (analog and DSP),
  • Additional academic preparation or experience in a specific area (if any): Experience in staff management and advising and/or training is preferred. Proficiency with Dean Evans Event Management software is preferred. Rigging or trussing experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to diverse student populations and ability to contribute to the University's commitment to enhancing student awareness and appreciation of diverse ethnic and cultural heritages.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience with concert lighting (conventional & intelligent), studio recording and computer-based multimedia systems is necessary. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse clientele, excellent oral and written communication skills, extensive knowledge of computer systems and software (Event Management Software, Email, Web Page Management, Payroll, Excel, Word, Microsoft Visio, Help Desk/Support Ticket software, Digital Signage Systems, Audio Recording and DSP systems) and demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of students and community users is necessary.
