LOCATION: This position is located in the Division of Information Technology Services at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
SALARY: Starting salary is between $53,793 to $88,758 per year, depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A six-month probationary period is required. The pay schedule/range is 07-02. This position is not represented by a bargaining unit.
JOB DUTIES: This position is a member of the Infrastructure & Security Technologies department, within Division of Technology Services, which manages numerous services and the data network infrastructure. Position performs advanced professional information systems work related to software, hardware and connectivity which supports the functions of computers in network configurations. Networking considerations addressed by this position may include coordinating network design and maintenance for assigned agency/campus customers with the LAN Project Manager, Network Administrator, or IS Supervisor and coordinating projects for network problem/change management and definitions, installation and maintenance of network and/or server software through the management of IS Network Professionals. This position works with and supports data networks for a majority of the time. The person in this position will occasionally be needed to work early morning, evening and weekend hours based on tasks required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Position requires in-depth knowledge and understanding of network physical and logical standards; understanding of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Active Directory environments including mail, file and print services, account provisioning, policies, best practices and Windows workstation clients; and knowledge of network, server, and PC base architectures, operating systems, and protocols. Candidates must have knowledge of project management principles; problem solving techniques; and the ability to develop project schedules, including deliverables, tasks, time estimates, and critical path. Effective written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills are required.
