UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN River Falls
Along with the freedom that comes with living on campus, there are also responsibilities each student has to their self, floor and hall community.
You are encouraged to familiarize yourself with institutional, campus and residence life policies and to share in the community standards that are a part of any successful on campus residence life experience.
To ensure the rights of all students are upheld, each member of the UWRF residence hall community is expected to know and abide by all University and Residence Life policies and standards.
Make sure you sign a housing contract and sign up for a meal plan for the upcoming academic year. Current UWRF students have the option to select their own hall and room through the Housing Sign-Up process. Details for this are typically available by mid-November. This information will be posted online, sent via students' UWRF e-mail accounts, and mailed to students living on campus.
If you need to request to arrive to campus prior to the campus move in date, fill out the early arrival form. All requests must be received a minimum of 72 business hours in advance of your requested arrival date. You will receive an email from Residence Life approving or denying your request.
If you need to stay on campus during the semester break you will need to register and sign a contract for the semester break/J-Term period. The link to this page will be active once the J-term contract is available to students.
Before leaving the residence halls, it is important to know that the two-year housing requirement remains in effect and enforced.
While the vast majority of first and second year students live on campus at UWRF, some students are exempt from the residency requirement. Juniors and seniors may continue to live with us, and many do, but are not required to do so.
If you do intend to commute, it is important that you submit the proper paperwork or, if you are requesting an exemption, follow the guidelines to request a residency exemption in a timely fashion.
