Academic Year Holidays and Spring Break

Holidays and Spring Break: Students may live in the campus halls during Fall or Spring semester holidays and spring break. No special accommodations are required for access to your hall.
J-Term/Winter Break: Special accommodations are required for living on-campus for Winter Break (J-term), see below.


J-Term Housing Request

All requests for J-term housing must be submitted either before Thurs, Dec 20, 2012 or after Wed, Jan 2, 2013. Due to limited staffing over the holidays, J-term housing requests submitted between Dec 21 and Jan 2nd will not be processed.

J-Term Housing Fees

All J-term housing charges will be placed on your university eSIS account. Once your request is approved, you will be billed a weekly rate regardless the amount of nights you stay in a week time period.

There are two different categories of students staying during the semester break/J-term period. Therefore there are two different costs. Please make sure to include a detailed explanation of why you are needing housing during the J-Term period.  Please include all dates that you will need housing.

University Affiliated Category - $35/week charge

  • Student that is an In-Season Athlete staying for games/practice
  • Student who is working for a University department. Your supervisor must send an e-mail to reslife@uwrf.edumail confirming your work. Residence Life will not grant you permission to stay for J-term until we receive this e-mail. 
  • Taking J-term class - you must include the name of the course(s) you are taking in your housing request.

University Non-Affiliated Category - $75/week charge

  • International student staying in halls not taking classes/working 
  • Student working off campus during break period

Dining Over J-Term

  • There is no meal plan service available over J-Term. Meal plan service will resume for Spring Semester with Dinner on Sunday, January 27, 2013.
  • Peregrine Perk will be open Monday-Friday, 7:45am-2:00pm. Cash, credit card, Falcon dollars and Dining dollars will be accepted.
    - Breakfast and luncheon hot/cold sandwiches.
    - Simply to Go items, snacks and beverages will be available.
  • Freddy's C-Store will be closed for renovation over J-Term 2012-2013.
