Description:The class is a three credit English class that, depending on your major, can count as an elective or elsewhere if approved by your advisor. Included in the cost of the trip are all breakfasts, dinners, all travel to, from, and within Ireland, all admissions and fees, and the gratuity for the driver/guide. We stay in very nice hotels all nights except for when we are in the village of Sneem in County Kerry, where we will be staying in B&Bs. Sneem is one of the favorite places for students.
This will be the fifth year for the class/tour. Experience Ireland: Culture and Landscape will introduce students to the fascinating country of Ireland through stops in Dublin, Belfast, Galway, Connemara, Cobh, Blarney, Cork, Dingle Peninsula, Sneem, Ring of Kerry, and Killarney. Visits/admissions to the following sites are included in the tour: Kilmainham Goal, Joyce Tower & Museum, James Joyce Center, Writers Museum, Guinness Brewery, Literary 1916 Walking Tour of Dublin, Bru na Boinne Visitors Center and admission to the tombs at Newgrange, Kylemore Abbey, Connemara Marble, Cobh Heritage Museum, Blarney Castle and Woollen Mills, Muckross House and Gardens, and Cliffs of Moher.
