CAFES Alumni Scholarship

Awarded to an incoming freshman or transfer student accepted at UWRF at the time of decision, at least 25 years old or have parental responsibilities at the time of application, and first major in CAFES.

College of Ag, Food & Env Sci

CAFES Freshman Leadership Award

Students must have a first major in CAFES, must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.0, must have documented past and present leadership roles/activities and must have a clearly articulated vision of how the applicant will utilize their higher educational experience to enhance their leadership skills/abilities.

College of Ag, Food & Env Sci

Hartung Brothers, Inc. Scholarship

Awarded to new freshman with a declared major in Agricultural Business, Agricultural Education, Crop & Soil Science, Agricultural Engineering Technology or Horticulture. Must be active in either 4H, FFA, Ag Club or any other local agricultural-related organization.

Animal Science

Wisconsin Livestock and Meat Council Scholarship

Awarded to students who demonstrate interest in the animal sciences area, particularly in the production and processing of beef, pork, and lamb. Student may reapply for a WLMC scholarship and be considered to receive it more than one time. Students selected are expected to attend the annual meeting in the year in which the scholarships are awarded.

General

Carl and Marian O'Connell Wurtz Scholarship

Based on scholarship and financial need, this scholarship is awarded to students from a rural area (defined as towns with populations of 5,000 or less) whose class rank is in the top third.

University

Chancellor's Scholars Scholarship

Based on academic performance and leadership qualities, select students will receive full tuition or half tuition scholarships. Scholarships are available for an additional three years. Please contact the Admissions Office for further details.

Earl and Marie Clausen Scholarship

Awarded to a resident of Polk County, Wisconsin who is an incoming freshman.

H. Gaylon Greenhill Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide support to a UW-River Falls freshman student who graduated high school from either Barron or Dunn counties, was in the top quartile of his/her high school graduating class, and has financial need. The scholarship is renewable for the student's sophomore year providing he/she maintains a 3.3 grade average.

Ben Hawkinson Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to an outstanding incoming freshman that has demonstrated both academic excellence and leadership ability in school and/or community activities. Students in the upper 20% of their high school class with an ACT composite score of 28 or higher are eligible to apply.

Dennis G. Dahlka Scholarship

Awarded to an incoming freshman. Student must have graduated from a Wisconsin high school; must be in the top third of their graduating class and must be a resident of the state of Wisconsin. The student must maintain a 3.0 GPA at UWRF (allowing for a one semester probation period with a GPA no lower than 2.75) to remain eligible.

The Brother Royce Keehr Theta Chi Fraternity Freshman Welcome Scholarship

Awarded to a high school senior who will be attending UWRF as a freshman student. Applicants must submit a short one-page essay on why they should be the recipient of the scholarship. All majors are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to a male student.

College of Business & Econ

Sentry Insurance Student Leadership Scholarship

Awarded to an incoming freshman. Student must be in the top 15 percent of his/her high school graduating class and have significant records of co-curricular leadership and outstanding leadership potential with the intent to pursue a degree in one of the following areas: Business Administration, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, and Mathematics (Actuarial Science). Scholarship is renewable for up to four years as long as the recipient maintains a minimum GPA of 3.3 and continues to pursue a degree in one of the above named areas.

General

Willis H. Miller Memorial Scholarship

Scholarships are awarded to incoming freshman with preference given to applicants from the general Hudson - North Hudson, Wisconsin area, which area includes the towns of Hudson, St. Joseph and Troy. Preference will be also be given to students with strong academic achievement and extracurricular involvement.

Falcon Scholars Scholarship

Based on academic performance and leadership qualities, select students will be invited to apply to become a Falcon Scholar. Scholarships are $1,000.00 for the freshman year and available for an additional three years. These scholarships include a $2,000.00 stipend that may be used for undergraduate research or to study abroad during your junior or senior year. Please contact the Admissions Office for further details.

Environmental Science

River Falls Municipal Utilities Scholarship

Must be majoring or minoring in Conservation, Environmental Science or Community Planning. Must be an incoming freshman. Must be a graduate of the River Falls High School and a resident of River Falls, WI. Preference given to customers of the River Falls Municipal Utilities Company.

Psychology

Drs. Clifford and Carole Mottaz Scholarship

Awarded to a transfer student (a student who has completed some portion of their undergraduate work at another institution and is new to the UWRF campus in the fall of the year in which the scholarship is awarded) to UW-River Falls. First preference should be given to a student who intends to major in sociology. Second preference should be given to a student who intends to major in psychology.

Sociology

Drs. Clifford and Carole Mottaz Scholarship

Awarded to a transfer student (a student who has completed some portion of their undergraduate work at another institution and is new to the UWRF campus in the fall of the year in which the scholarship is awarded) to UW-River Falls. First preference should be given to a student who intends to major in sociology. Second preference should be given to a student who intends to major in psychology.

College of Arts & Sciences

Hedahl Scholarship

Must have a declared major in the College of Arts and Sciences. Preference for a minority student or first generation college student. Preference for an incoming freshman. Student is required to complete an essay explaining his/her qualifications.

Chemistry

Chemistry Scholarship

Awarded to incoming freshman chemistry majors.

Chemistry

UWRF Department of Chemistry Scholarship

Awarded to incoming freshman who intend to major in chemistry. Selection is based on high school academic record (i.e., SAT/ACT score, class rank, etc.). Spring installment of the scholarship is contingent on continuation as a chemistry major and good academic standing.

Elementary Education

James Elmer Holmes Scholarship

Awarded to incoming freshman students majoring in elementary education. Students must demonstrate ability to contribute to the diversity of the campus community through extracurricular activities, work history, community activities, and life experiences. Must have financial need. Scholarship is renewable for up to four years contingent upon achievement of a freshman GPA of 2.5, sophomore GPA of 2.75, and junior GPA of 3.00 at UWRF.

College of Ed & Prof Studies

College of Education and Professional Studies Merit Scholarship

Awarded to an incoming student with a declared major with the College of Education and Professional Studies. Student must be of a underrepresented minority. Selection will also be determined on factors including: class Rank, ACT/SAT/GPA, significant academic accomplishments in high school, financial need as determined by Financial Aid Office and FAFSA Recipients are eligible to receive the scholarship for a maximum of five years. In order for the scholarship to be renewed, recipients must be enrolled full-time (12 credits) each semester and must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Marcel K. and Edith H. Lynum Scholarship

Granted to graduates of Baldwin-Woodville and Glenwood City, Wisconsin high schools who will be enrolled at UWRF. Selection will be based on leadership and scholarship; however, financial need shall also be considered where several otherwise substantially equal applicants are involved. Applications available through Baldwin Woodville and Glenwood City High Schools. Selections made by respective high schools.

University

Granted to graduates of Baldwin-Woodville and Glenwood City, Wisconsin high schools who will be enrolled at UWRF. Selection will be based on leadership and scholarship; however, financial need shall also be considered where several otherwise substantially equal applicants are involved. Bernice A. "Bunny" Smith Woodman Scholarship

Awarded to an outstanding incoming freshman that has demonstrated both academic excellence and leadership ability in school and/or community activities.

Grace Robinson Horman Scholarship

Awarded to a graduating senior of one or more of the Barron County, Wisconsin High Schools who plan to matriculate at UW-River Falls. Preference given to graduates with an Almena, Wisconsin connection. Academic achievement, leadership, and economic need should be considered.

University

Grace Robinson Horman Scholarship

Awarded to a graduating senior of one or more of the Barron County, Wisconsin High Schools who plan to matriculate at UW-River Falls. Preference given to graduates with an Almena, Wisconsin connection. Academic achievement, leadership, and economic need should be considered.

College of Ag, Food & Env Sci

Bark Family Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman or students who plan to pursue a degree in College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Science area. Selection based on high school academic record, extracurricular activities coupled with a showing of a sincere desire to enter an area within agriculture. Preference given to students with financial need. A short essay is required on why student believes they should receive award.

Neal H. Stoddard Leadership Scholarship

Awarded to incoming freshman from any of the following Wisconsin areas: Hometown of Downing, WI; Graduate of Glenwood City High School; Graduate of a high school within the Badger Conference including Oregon, Edgewood, Monona Grove, Monroe, Stoughton, Fort Atkinson, Milton, Baraboo, DeForest, Mt. Horeb, Barneveld, Portage, Reedsburg, Sauk Prairie, Waunakee.

Lawrence and Bernice "Bunny" Dawson RFHS Scholarship

Granted to a senior from River Falls High School who plans to continue his or her education at UWRF and aspires to become a teacher. Academic achievement and leadership exhibited in school, church, or community shall be the selection criteria.

Gotham - Banks Scholarship

This scholarship is granted to an entering freshman who will graduate from Chetek High School in the top third of the class. This award is based on demonstrated financial need and active participation in extra-curricular activities, which may include school, church, community, or 4-H. The student should indicate an interest in pursuing a teaching career; however, this does not exclude other candidates.

Marcel K. Lynum Scholarship

To be applied annually by the University to provide scholarships for students who, in the judgment of the governing body of the University, exhibit outstanding leadership qualities.

Fred C. and Katherine B. Andersen Foundation Scholarship

These scholarships are granted to outstanding incoming freshmen who reside in any of the following counties: Polk, Pierce, St. Croix, Dunn and Barron Wisconsin counties and Washington, Dakota, Ramsey, and Hennepin Minnesota counties.

John E. Clemons Scholarship

Awarded to one incoming freshman student who plans to continue his/her education at UWRF and has a cumulative GPA between 3.00 and 3.50.  Student may enroll in any major in the College of Agriculture, Food, and Environmental Sciences or pre-medical program. Preference will be given to graduates of the following Wisconsin high schools: Bloomer, Chippewa Falls, New Auburn, or Tilden.

College of Arts & Sciences

John E. Clemons Scholarship

Awarded to one incoming freshman student who plans to continue his/her education at UWRF and has a cumulative GPA between 3.00 and 3.50.  Student may enroll in any major in the College of Agriculture, Food, and Environmental Sciences or pre-medical program. Preference will be given to graduates of the following Wisconsin high schools: Bloomer, Chippewa Falls, New Auburn, or Tilden.

Charles E. and Ruth Anne White Scholarship

Awarded to an incoming student who is a graduate of River Falls High School and will be attending UW-River Falls. Student will be chosen based on demonstrated financial need.

College of Business & Econ

David E. Benson Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to an incoming student who is a graduate of River Falls High School and will be attending UW-River Falls. Student must be pursuing a business major and is chosen based on demonstrated financial need.

General

Diversity Scholarship

Awarded to a first year (incoming freshman) African American, Native American, Asian, Mexican, or Latino/Hispanic American student who has demonstrated leadership ability and financial need.

Music

Music Scholarship

These scholarships are awarded to outstanding performers and composers as determined by the Music Department. The recipients are chosen through auditions with music faculty.

Physics

Physics Alumni Scholarship

Awarded to incoming freshman students majoring in Physics.
