Dr. Highum has taught the following political science courses at UW-River Falls: Senior Seminar, Introduction to International Relations, Comparative Politics, Politics of Developing States, Introduction to International Studies, American Government and State and Local Politics.
Dr. Highum has presented research at International Studies Association conferences on the subjects of international quality of life studies and global environmental politics. He served as chair and discussant on an elections panel at the Fall 2012 Wisconsin Political Science Association conference, and Committee Chair/Faculty Advisor at the spring 2012 Arrowhead Model United Nations Conference. From 2008 - present, he has led teams of student researchers in conducting annual surveys of UW-RF students' views on the issues of international trade, international terrorism, the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, and global climate change.
