Technology Services staff will be migrating files on nights and weekends; however, there are some tasks you can do to help make sure the migration goes smoothly.


  • Delete or archive any files and folders you no longer need
  • Empty your trash folder

Day of Migration

  • Save all files that you are working on prior to your scheduled migration time
  • Shut your computer down

Post Migration

  • Check to make sure that you see and can access the T drive after your department folders have been migrated and the S drive after your home folder has been migrated.
  • Check your e-mail for a message from DoTS about any issues with migrating your data.
  • Ensure you can access all folders you had access to before migration.
    • If missing some folders, check your G drive since those folders may not have been migrated at the same time as your department folders.
    • Reboot your computer.
    • Contact DoTS if you still do not see the folders.  If you can provide the folder path, it will help DoTS staff locate the missing folder (a folder path is G:\campus\YourDepartment\FolderName).
