Technology Services recommends that any data files (documents, images, presentations, etc) stored on your local computer be backed up to one of the locations listed below. Data stored at one of these location will be backed up when your computer is upgraded.
As a reminder, it is recommended that any data saved on your computer also be “backed up” in a secondary location. These locations include a university provided network folder ('G' drive, 'H' drive, etc), removable hard drive, flash drive, etc). If your computer is ever damaged, your hard drive breaks, or your computer is lost/stolen, DoTS will be unable to recover your data.

Any data that you have stored on a network storage location will not be affected by this upgrade.
Backup your bookmarks/favoritesIf you would like to save any bookmarks/favorites on web browser other than Microsoft's Internet Explorer, you must export these bookmarks before you computer is upgraded. Follow the directions listed below.

*Favorites saved in Internet Explorer will be exported/imported automatically.

A staff member from DoTS will provide you with an "Upgrade Checklist" at least one week before your computer is scheduled to be upgraded. The "Upgrade Checklist" provides you with an individualized list of applications currently installed on your computer and provides you with a confirmation of each application that will be installed on your computer after the upgrade.
