Resources are provisioned based on HR appointments. Faculty and staff must have a current or future dated HR appointment to receive the technology resources listed below.
Students
Resources are provisioned based on the Students affiliation with the university. Only current students are granted access to technology resources.
Guest of the University
Guest of the University would include volunteers, visiting professors, auditors and any other non-payroll persons. To request access to technology resources, complete and submit the Guest Access form.
Graduate Assistants
Graduate assistant students who are also employed may experience the inability to login to certain accounts such as workstations, lab computers, eSIS, etc. Also they may notice they are not receiving email from D2L to their Live@edu student email accounts. The reason for this is that in eSIS Graduate assistants are considered employeesandstudents. However according to eSIS, the employee account is the primary account. So in reality, these students have two different email accounts. One that ends in @my.uwrf.edu and one that ends in @uwrf.edu and they are accessed in two different places.
@uwrf.edu (using falcon account username) accessed here
@my.uwrf.edu (using email address as username) accessed here
Other challenges these students may experience is the ability to login to Live@edu, but they are not able to login to eSIS, their workstation, and lab computers (except Mac’s). They will be able to login to D2L and Live@edu, but the email that is listed in D2L is not the Live@edu, rather their employee email which ends in @uwrf.edu.
DoTS suggests two things: (to make life easier)
• Change the falcon account password (if you are unable to login to the computer)
o Password change at https://faa.uwrf.edu
• Create a redirect rule in OWA if you’d like your email from D2L to go to Live@edu email
The PDF document attached will help to create the redirect rules.
