1) Download

After returning to the download page, follow the instructions on that page to download McAfee VirusScan Enterprise for Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/7. Your web browser may ask you what you want to do with the file. Choose to Save it to disk. Please be sure to notice to which folder you are downloading the software. When the download is complete proceed to the next section.

2) Install VirusScan Enterprise

Open Windows Explorer and find the folder to where your antivirus package was downloaded and double-click it. This will install McAfee VirusScan Enterprise on your computer. Follow the on-screen instructions. After the software is successfully installed, you may delete the installer package. It won't hurt anything if you don't delete this file except that it will take up unnecessary file space.

3) Update VirusScan Enterprise

Your VirusScan Enterprise software will attempt to keep itself up to date when your computer connects to the Internet. To check whether it is up to date, find the VirusScan Enterprise icon by the clock in the lower-right hand corner of your computer. Right-click the icon and select About VirusScan Enterprise. Notice when the virus definitions were created. It should be a very recent date.

If your VirusScan software is out of date, right-click the VirusScan Enterprise icon and choose Update Now... from the pop-up menu. You will need to be connected to the Internet to successfully update your software
