UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN River Falls
Under the expressed wish of Annette Blanchette and the Margis Family, an endowment fund has been established. This fund was first created with a principle gift from Annette Blanchette, followed by memorial gifts honoring Sally Margis added to the original endowment.
The 2013 winners were announced at the Holiday Luncheon. Congratulations to Tanya Lamkin and Jennifer Weinert as our 2013 recipients.
The endowment was established to generate an annual award to develop, through education and/or training, a classified employee's career at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. The amount granted is to be used to support direct or indirect costs associated with career development. Examples of direct costs may include educational tuition and workshop/conference fees (relating to career development). Examples of indirect costs may include textbooks, special equipment, and software.
Applicants must be a Classified permanent, project, or recurring limited term employee at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Applicants must fill out the Sally Margis Classified Employee Development Award Form and provide a statement of intent, limited to two pages, which includes the following information:
*Funds must be used within one year from the date of the award. Costs must be incurred directly by the employee and cannot be used for expenses that have been charged to or initially paid by the university.
The Classified Staff Advisory Council will review submissions and make recommendation(s) to the Chancellor, who will make the final decision. The award may be divided among multiple candidates.
