|Details: This course covers a variety of topics important to wildlife professionals, with emphasis on the management of wetlands, grassland birds, and white-tailed deer in western Wisconsin. Additional topics include habitat design, hunting, predation, and law enforcement. Students are required to participate in regular class discussion of popular and scientific articles relating to current wildlife issues. Working in teams, students will formulate and present management plans published as World Wide Web pages. Guest lectures will be presented by wildlife professionals from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Special course fee is required. Prerequisites: BIOL150; at least one course in statistics is recommended.
