Additional Requirements/Prerequisites

The Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness Management has four prerequisite courses. These courses, or equivalent courses, must be completed before taking the specific program courses for which each is required. The four prerequisite courses are:

  • Introduction to Psychology (UWRF PSYC 101 or equivalent)
  • Introduction to Biology (UWRF BIOL 100 or 150 or equivalent)
  • Introduction to Public Speaking (UWRF COMS 101 or CSTA 101 or equivalent)
  • Composition II (UWRF ENGL 200 or equivalent)

The Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness Management is a collaborative effort of four University of Wisconsin campuses ~ UW-La Crosse, UW-River Falls, UW-Stevens Point, and UW-Superior ~ and UW-Extension. It equips students with the skills necessary to design, develop, implement, and maintain health and wellness programs in the workplace. This degree program helps students learn more about the seven dimensions of wellness and how they affect our lives and well-being.

General Education Requirements

The Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness Management is a 63-credit online bachelor's degree completion program. Prospective students who have completed the first two years of a bachelor's degree or have an associate's degree may apply directly to the program. To be eligible for admission, students must have completed at least 60 college level semester credits of transferable coursework with a 2.0 or better grade point average (GPA). At UW-River Falls, students must also complete courses in multidisciplinary inquiry, American cultural diversity, and global perspectives as a part of their first two years of college coursework or while they are completing the required 21 Health and Wellness Management courses.
