Broad Field Sciences Programs are monitored by representatives from the departments of biology, chemistry, physics, and plant and earth science. Students choosing one of these programs will typically be assigned an adviser from one of these departments. The Broad Field Science Programs are interdepartmental programs tailored to various interdisciplinary niches in the sciences. These programs are the equivalent of a major and a minor. A student selecting one of these programs is not required to have an additional minor. Two of these programs lead to certification in secondary or middle school education. Students interested in certification in those programs should consult the Secondary Education Handbook for Undergraduates at www.uwrf.edu/CEPS/ for the detailed requirements for various levels of certification in Wisconsin
