"Job Agents" are tools for receiving an email list of new jobs that enter a job search site which match they types of jobs you are seeking. They help you to minimize the time that you spend visiting web sites by having jobs sent directly to you.
Set-up your Hire-a-Falcon account to receive a daily email list of jobs that Career Services receives each day that match the types of jobs you are seeking. Jobs include work-study, student assistance, area part-time jobs, full-time jobs and internships.
We recommend only using only the "Position Type" field while setting-up a Job Agent, as some positions which enter the system may be unpredictably categorized and may be missed by your Job Agent if your job search criteria is very specific.
Example: Students seeking work on or near campus while enrolled in classes, search using these position types: Work Study, Student Assistance and Part-time.
Your job agent will only email NEW job postings to you the day those jobs are posted, not jobs which arrived in the system prior to setting-up your job agent.
At midnight each evening, the Hire-a-Falcon System automatically sends Job Agent email lists to students and alumni. Lists contain only positions that were entered into the Hire-a-Falcon System that day.
Tip: Using multiple job agents
Organize how your Job Agent sends a list to you by using more than one job agent. For example, Work Study and Student Assistant jobs may be grouped separately from part-time jobs in the auto-email you will receive by using two separate job agents. See below:
Why does the job list sent to me look jumbled?
To properly view jobs sent to you by the Job Agent feature, your email account options must be set to view HTML emails. Adjust the preferences in your email software to view emails as HTML.
You may view, disable and remove your job agents from within your Hire-a-Falcon account.
