How to Apply

Applications received and postmarked on or before October 1 will be considered for the following Spring semester.

Applications received and postmarked on or before February 1 will be considered for the following Fall semester. 

You are encouraged to check your application status frequently by calling the Admissions Office at (715) 425-3500. Incomplete and late applications will not be considered. 

To be considered for admission, an applicant must have a minimum undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 (applicants with GPAs lower than 2.75 will be considered in special circumstances). In addition, the following items must be submitted:

  • Completed Online Application Form (APPLY herelink)
  • Résumé 
  • One letter of interest using THIS FORMdocument
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • OFFICIAL transcripts from all undergraduate schools attended (required) and graduate schools attended (if applicable)
  • $56 application fee
  • OPTIONAL: Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores are NOT REQUIRED but will be considered, if official forms are submitted

Hard copies of items 2-5 above must be sent to the Admissions Office, at the address below, before October 1 or February 1.

An Admissions Office representative will organize a file on your behalf with all mailed materials, along with a copy of your online application form. Final admission decisions are typically made within 3 weeks of the application deadline. Invited applicants are provided with a specific date by which to notify the program of their intentions. 

NOTE: The program faculty does not formally interview applicants. Prospective students are encouraged to contact Mark Gillenmail, Program Chair, at (715) 425-3890 or speak with a faculty member about the UWRF program.
