Who Should Enroll

This program is for individuals who want to become outstanding licensed school psychologists providing the following services in schools or mental health settings:

  • Academic, behavioral, and mental health interventions
  • Consultation and collaboration with parents, teachers, and other professionals
  • Assessment of individual student and school- wide challenges
  • Culturally competent school-based practices
  •  Research and Program evaluation

Key Features

  • The program is approved by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) and the National Association of School Psychologists.
  • Graduates are eligible for certification in many states, including Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa.
  • Graduates are eligible to apply for listing in the National School Psychology Certification System.
  • All courses are held in the evenings on the River Falls campus or in the UWRF Hudson Center in Hudson, WI.
  • Students complete three years of coursework and practicum field work, followed by a 1,200-hour internship (commonly when employed as a school psychologist).
