Welcome to the Schools of Education, Allied Health and Social Work

The School of Education and the School of Allied Health and Social Work, as part of the College of Education, Business and Allied Health is home to about 1,300 undergraduate and graduate students preparing for professional careers in clinical exercise physiology, communication sciences and disorders, counseling, exercise and sport science, school psychology, social work and teaching. Teacher Education has been a major commitment of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls since its founding in 1874. The university's teacher education programs have received national recognition for excellence and are fully approved by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Within our home, the Walker D. Wyman Education Building, our students, under our faculty's guidance, teach the next generation of students in the University Preschool and provide evaluation and intervention services to community members with communication impairments in the Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic. We are the only public university in the country with a Montessori graduate program for elementary education, and one of two universities in the nation to offer a graduate-level Montessori program in early childhood education. Meanwhile, our innovative continuing-education programs — like STEMteach — give adult learners unique and flexible opportunities to broaden their skills. With small classes, an experienced faculty, hands-on learning opportunities and world-class facilities, our students gain the insight and knowledge to be leaders in their fields.

One of our central values is respect for diversity. We are committed to being inclusive of all people served by our programs.

CEBAH Frequently Asked Questions

 Student's Stories

“I was able to learn from so many inspiring professors who really care for not only my academics but me as a person. They take the time to get to know you as an individual and went above and beyond to help support my journey. My courses enabled me the opportunity to have a variety of field experiences. I was able to learn and teach in a classroom alongside some amazing cooperative teachers that I have been able to learn so much from.”

    – Sierra Barber, elementary education major, general science minor

“My favorite experience has been my senior year field placement. This experience has allowed me to really grow and expand my learning. I have been able to connect with clients and apply everything that I have learned in the classroom. Although we learn so much in the classroom, this was a great experience to really put what we learned into action. I feel as if I am completely comfortable to lead more because of everything that I learned from my professors in class.”

     – Samantha Potocnik, social work major
