Businesses recognize that accounting is fundamental to overall strategic success and its practitioners are uniquely positioned for leadership roles.
Accounting Program Mission:
The mission of the Accounting Program is to help students learn about accounting to prepare them for a mix of accounting professional activities, including public accounting, governmental accounting and corporate accounting.
Quality undergraduate teaching and learning is the top priority of the accounting program. The program supports the missions of the College of Business and Economics (CBE, see Appendix E) and UWRF by contributing expertise in accounting.
Learning Outcomes:
Graduating accounting students will be able to
- Use financial statements to make decisions.
- Help managers make decisions using internal and external information.
- Evaluate accounting systems.
- File tax returns for individuals and businesses.
- Communicate verbally and in writing.
