CBE Merit Awards

At graduation three types of merit awards can be received—Senior Merit, Cum Laude Merit, and completion of the Honors Program. Persons who qualify only after all credits have been counted will also receive honors at that point. 

  • Senior Merit: Graduating seniors who have maintained a 3.5 GPA for their last 60
    honor credits will receive Senior Merit.
  • Cum Laude: Graduating seniors with a minimum cumulative 3.7 GPA for their entire college career at all institutions will receive their diplomas cum laude.
  • Magna Cum Laude: Graduating seniors with a minimum cumulative 3.8 GPA for their entire college career at all institutions will receive their diplomas magna cum laude.
  • Summa Cum Laude: Graduating seniors with a minimum cumulative 3.9 GPA for their entire college career at all institutions will receive their diplomas summa cum laude.
  • Honors Program
    • Incoming freshmen must have a composite ACT score of 27 or higher and/or have graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school class.
    • Sophomores, juniors, or seniors may enroll if their cumulative grade point average is 3.3 or higher.
    • Students must maintain a 3.3 cumulative grade point average and complete at least two Honors program credits per year to remain in the program.
    • The UWRF Honors program consists of 18 Honors program credits, all of which are possible to accumulate within the 120 minimum credits necessary to graduate.
    • Requirements for completing the Honors Program include at least 18 honors program credits and no history of academic dishonesty.
