Services and Fees

Archival instruction sessions are available to UWRF students and faculty. Typical instruction sessions consist of an introduction to archives policies and procedures, an overview of archival collection areas, and a short demonstration on how to search and request archival materials.

A display of archival items relevant to coursework or class focus can also be prepared with advance notice. Instructors are asked to provide a copy of class assignments or research topics ahead of time.

To schedule a class session, please fill out the Library instruction request form.

The UWRF Archives and Area Research Center offers distance research and reference services. There is a small fee for distance reference questions based on resources required. The fee is for the research, not the result, and is due regardless of the success of the search. Feel free to contact us prior to submitting your request for more information on potential fees.

Researchers are encouraged to make an appointment. You can schedule an appointment by emailing us at archives@uwrf.edu or calling 715-425-3567. We ask that you complete an annual registration form and review rules for using the research room prior to your visit.

To request a copy of an image from our holdings, please complete and submit the Image Reproduction Order and Permission Request form. Choose the option for "Image Reproduction Order" under the "select the items you are requesting" section if you don't plan to use the image publicly. There is a $5.00 reproduction fee per image. Payments can be made online at the UWRF Archives Transact Store (Cashnet).

If you would like to obtain a digital copy of an image/photograph(s) from our collections AND use the image/photograph(s) publicly, choose the option for "Both" under the section in the "select the items you are requesting" portion of the form. If you have questions regarding the fees, please contact the archives.
