The English Language Transition (ELT) Program at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls provides intensive English language courses for undergraduate degree-seeking students. Admission to the ELT program indicates that a student is academically qualified for admission but has not yet met the English language requirement.
Upon arrival, ELT students will take a test to determine their placement within the ELT program. Students will be enrolled in intensive English language learning courses, for a minimum of one semester, until they have attained the necessary skills to transition into undergraduate courses.
Minimum test scores required for admission to the ELT Program are as follows:
Results of other recognized English language assessment tests (i.e. Michigan, Pearson, Cambridge, TOEIC, EIKEN) can be submitted in lieu of TOEFL or IELTS .
Student enrolled in, or who have completed beginning or intermediate level ESL training programs at an accredited language school are welcome to apply for placement in the English Language Transition program at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
We are currently accepting applications for admission for Fall 2013. The application and all supporting documents are due June 1, 2013.
