Ability Services is able to arrange a temporary disability parking permit for students who submit a special form to this office, after it’s signed by their doctor. The permit is only valid for on-campus parking, expires after 30 days, and is nonrenewable.
There are two different forms. Students should use (only) the form that goes with the state where their vehicle is licensed.
Students who will need disability parking for more than 30 days, or for off campus parking, should use the same form, but send it to the Department of Transportation (DOT). The mailing address is on the form.
Some students do both: they obtain a temporary disability parking permit from UWRF (because it can be arranged pretty quickly) and also request the longer and more widely applicable permit from the DOT. While the temporary permit from UWRF is free, such a permit from your state's DOT may require a small fee.
