Pasteurization Short Course for Trained Operators

Course Description: This two-day course provides an in-depth review and training session for pasteurizer operator. 

Topics to be covered include: 

  • Definitions
  • Raw milk microbiology including pathogenic organisms
  • Time and temperature relationships
  • Vat and HTST pasteurization components
  • Recording chart information
  • Required/recommended placement of seals
  • What to do in the event a seal is broken

Upon completion of this refresher course a challenge exam will be given. Successful completion of the exam will meet ATCP 80.40, Wisconsin Administrative Code for trained pasteurizer operator personnel.

 

Advanced registration is required.

The course is limited to 35 registrants with priority given by postmark date on receipt of payment and registration form. Please check back soon for registration form and pricing. You must be 18 years of age to enroll. On campus parking is included in the registration fee along with study materials, refreshments during breaks and lunch.

CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS: If you have to cancel, you must notify the UWRF to receive a refund. As this is a limited enrollment conference, your prompt notification may allow another person to register. Substitutions may be made at any time at no charge; please advise us in advance. If you cancel, we will refund your prepaid fee minus a $20 cancellation fee and $30 for the registration packet if it has already been mailed to you. If you do not attend the short course and fail to cancel your registration, no refund will be granted.
